This depends on which server you are using. With the Apache or Tomcat server, you can easily generate SHA-2 signed private keys and certificate requests. You only have to modify the standard command a little bit. We have compiled instructions for you on how to do this.
If you use Microsoft or other servers you cannot create a SHA-2-CSR directly with the assistant. However, if you want to use a SHA-2 certificate with a SHA-2 signed private key and CSR here, you can do this via a small detour.
- Create the private key and the CSR with the OpenSource library OpenSSL.
- Order the SSL certificate/SSL certificates with SHA-2.
- Create the certificate in PKCS#12 format using OpenSSL. This includes the SSL certificate, the private key and the intermediate certificates.
- Import the SSL certificate in PKCS#12 format to your server.
